Neodymium Magnets Safety

Many scientists spend years studying the properties of magnetism. They learn things about magnet pull strength and neodymium magnets safety. Let’s get to know about the method through which you can get to know magnet pull strength.

By measuring the magnet strength, you can get an estimate of how strong your magnet is. Many magnet assemblies have strength ratings to tell you the capability of your magnet or the magnetic equipment. The method consists of measuring the strength or power of holding before a magnetic assembly separates from the steel plate. The strength is measured in pounds. The higher the puling strength, the better is the quality of magnet and purer it is.

To test the strength of your magnet, you can put it against a half-inch steel plate grounded properly. The magnet is then attached to the center of the plate and a hook is tied that is linked with a measuring device. The device that measures the strength of the magnet is called a dynamometer. The device pulls the magnet in an upward direction. This happens until the sufficient force is created to break away the magnet from the plate. The device then records the pull in terms of pounds which can be noted.
